Introduction

LiveContainer is an app launcher for iOS and iPadOS. It is not an emulator and not a hypervisor: guest apps run as processes hosted by LiveContainer.

That design lets you keep far more apps available than a free Apple developer account usually allows. You can also keep several versions of the same app, each with its own data container.

On iOS 18 and earlier, when JIT is available, codesigning checks for guest apps can be skipped. Without JIT, guest apps are signed with the same certificate LiveContainer uses.
